This is the silky sister of type 49157. The addition of silk makes the yarn smoother and adds a shine. It also adds strength to this construction. The yarn sucks up the dye, and colours are bright, clear, and glorious, this speckles super well too.

The knitted fabric is crisp, and the stitch definition is really good. It works well in lace patterns and is great for shawls and accessories where you really want to see the stitch definition. This would work as a weft, it is possible it would work as a warp, but we haven’t tried it, and heddle movement may cause wear, so to err on the side of caution we haven’t recommended it for this purpose.
