Yarn Presentation

Our yarns are presented in 100g skeins, unless otherwise stated in the yardage information. We also offer a range of other presentations for special purposes. They are as follows:

50g Skeins

Many of our sock yarns are available in 50g skeins, enabling contrasting pairs to be sold together. We also offer some of our more luxurious and finest yarns in this 50g format. 50g skeins are sold in packs of 10 skeins weighing 500g.

20g Minis

Some of our yarns are presented on mini skeins of 20g. These are fantastic for putting together gradient kits, club selections and more. 20g Mini Skeins are sold in packs of 25 skeins weighing 500g.

10g Micros

10g Micro Skeins are fantastic for clubs and Advents as well as for creating contrast colour kits for garments and socks. 10g Micro Skeins are sold in packs of 25 skeins weighing 250g.

3g Embroidery Skeins

Sold in 85 skein packs, these 3g embroidery skeins are equivalent to roughly size #8 Perle cotton. These skeins are wonderful for visible mending on knitwear. They are also great for natural dyers to test small amounts of plant material. Jeni keeps a supply mordanted, ready for when the inspiration strikes!

Single-Knitted Sock Blanks

We have produced knitted fabric blanks for some of our yarns. Single-knitted blanks are made from a single strand of yarn. We sell our blanks in sets of 5, or half kilo packages. Each blank is knitted from 100g of the yarn.

Double-Knitted Sock Blanks

Double-knitted blanks are made from two strands of yarn held together. These are designed to be knitted two socks at a time directly from the blank. This allows the pair to be dyed identically.

Long Skeins

Long skeins are 100g skeins of yarn that have been wound into a larger 5m circumference skein than our standard 100g skeins. This is very helpful for dyeing self-striping colourways.
