49157A Silky Singles HT

This is the silky sister of type 49157. The addition of silk makes the yarn smoother and adds shine. It also adds strength to the single-ply construction. The yarn sucks up the dye, colours are bright and it speckles super well too. The knitted fabric is crisp, the stitch definition is fantastic for lace patterns and is great for shawls and accessories. This would work as a weft, but we haven’t recommended it for a warp as we suspect that heddle movement would cause wear. Please see our notes on dyeing silk.
