49167 Imperial Alpaca 4ply

This is something special – Imperial alpaca is some of the finest alpaca ever grown with a micron count of 18! This is finer and therefore softer than baby alpaca. It is a gorgeous fibre. Andy chose a high twist for this yarn, which gives the yarn a subtle texture. The resulting knitted fabric has more body, which reduces the “drop” that can occur with alpaca. The yarn takes the dye really well, and the colours are more muted. It is a highly luxurious yarn which is only produced in small quantities.
