This yarn has a 3ply construction (1 ply of superwash Merino and 2 plies of non-superwash Merino). The superwash Merino takes the dye more intensely than the non-superwash, resulting in a barber pole effect. This effect is more noticeable on semi-solids and darker colours. The fabric once knitted is bouncy and would make a great sweater, especially dyed as a semi solid, to emphasise the barber pole patterning.
